Alliances and QualificationsSince 1995 we have worked closely with LIMRA International – a research, training and consultancy organization for financial services businesses - to provide specialist consultancy services to their members in the UK and Europe. As a result of this alliance we have conducted consultancy assignments with companies such as: ÁB Aegon LIMRA has over 800 members in more than 60 countries, all of them in or closely related to financial services. In addition to the substantial networking benefits that members gain, LIMRA helps them to understand their customers, markets, distribution channels, and competitors, and to understand how to leverage that knowledge to develop realistic business solutions. It does that by providing them with access to a combination of research and information, experienced professionals, and innovative consultancy services. To provide an effective service to financial service companies, Action Consulting needs and has a good understanding of issues relating to compliance and FSA requirements and plans. However, we are not a compliance specialist and so have developed an alliance with Resources Compliance, a specialist regulatory and compliance practice, to complement our services. Resources Compliance serve the whole of the financial services sector, investment managers and advisers, banks, product providers, insurance and mortgage brokers and other financial institutions in the UK and throughout Europe. Their specialist team of regulatory consultants has a wide range of experience and expertise covering the complete spectrum of financial services regulation and compliance. They provide a full range of services covering all aspects of FSA related matters ranging from the higher level Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC) issues, Compliance consultants meetings associated with ARROW reviews, Skilled Persons (s166) Reports, TCF issues and Expert Witness Reports, to the more granular day to day requirements of File and Past Business Reviews, Healthchecks, Training & Competence, and Compliance Support. For the individual or firm contemplating the issues that may arise from the FSA Retail Distribution Review (RDR) they can provide practical guidance, and for a firm contemplating FSA authorisation they can project manage its FSA Application. They also support firms on specific regulatory areas such as preparation of ICAAPS and responding to industry/regulatory surveys. |

A lot of Action Consulting’s work involves looking at the effectiveness not just of strategies and processes, but also people.
